Below is an excerpt from my HDR travel blog. Cheers.

I think about the American Museum of Natural History in New York City and wonder how entertaining can a display of lifeless creatures be to a child? The answer is VERY. Kids run around this museum like they're exploring a new world with every room they come across. New York is actually the vacation capital of the world by sheer numbers. This city saw 47 Million visitors in 2007. When the Euro was skyrocketing through the roof against the dollar, many of us joked that walking down the street you don't even hear English anymore. Instead, you hear Italian, Spanish or French. When the United States real estate market was reeling from an economic downturn New York's real estate market wasn't hit as drastically. Most New Yorker's know the areas to avoid being trampled by tourists. Never go through Times Square. Heavily trafficked areas in Central Park are a no no and site of the former World Trade Centers as well as Wall Street turns into a multilingual circus on the weekends.

This photo was taken in the Hall of Biodiversity in the American Museum of Natural History. I like this shot because it really looks like the octopus is running from the onslaught of families and their young ones coming to see and touch and experience the museum.
